Privacy Policy

Tend is built to keep your life on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what little we do collect, why, and what we never do with it.

Your wellness data stays on your device

Everything you track in Tend — cycle logs, rituals, workouts, meals, wardrobe photos, notes, reflections — is stored locally on your iPhone. Tend does not upload, sync, or back up this content to our servers. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it (subject to your own device backups, which you control through Apple).

Your account

An account is optional and exists for two purposes: authenticating AI requests and managing your Studio subscription. Accounts are handled by Clerk, our sign-in provider. The account data we hold is your email address and an internal user ID. We do not build a profile of you beyond that.

AI features

When you use an AI feature, the app sends only the context shown to you in that moment — for example, a photo you submit for clothing analysis, a voice recording you ask to have transcribed, or cycle-phase and day context used to shape a suggestion. That request goes to Tend's server, which forwards it to an AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) for processing and returns the result to your device. Requests are metered per account so we can enforce fair-use limits. Audio and photos are processed to produce the result and are not retained by Tend.

Location and weather

If you allow location access, it is used on-device to fetch local weather. Your location is sent only to the weather provider to answer that request; Tend does not store it.

Subscriptions and payments

Studio subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Tend never sees or stores your payment details.

What we don't do

No ads. No tracking across other apps or websites. No analytics brokers. We do not sell your data — to anyone, for any reason.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings inside the app. Deletion removes your account and the server-side records associated with it (your sign-in identity and AI usage metering). Content on your device remains yours and stays on your device.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app.
